For women, more pants is never a bad thing. Sure, denim is a wardrobe staple (opens in new tab), but a networking event ...... or to meet the ultra-conservative parents of someone you have feelings for, you can't necessarily wear them. Nevertheless, everyone should have a pair of pants that are somewhere between casual jeans and the fancy pants worn by Melanie Griffith in "Working Girl."

Desperate to find my own perfect pair of pants, a few months ago I bought Everlane's straight-leg cropped (opens in new tab) style (currently on sale!) to my e-cart, and now I have them in three colors and counting. Made of lightweight cotton, these pants have a high-waisted silhouette and a straight leg that sits just a few inches above the ankle. Not only are they supremely comfortable, but they also have a stunning silhouette.

Historically, Everlane's straight-leg cropped pants (open in new tab) cost $68, but now they are available for $50. It's hard enough just to find a great pair of pants, but if you can get a ridiculously versatile option for $50, ...... That's like a shopping miracle.
