Alexander McQueen tries his hand at making floral patterns with random materials

Just when you've exhausted all the ways to keep yourself busy during self-isolation - baking banana bread, completing puzzles, attempting viral TikTok dances, trying your hand at hydroponics with leeks, etc. - another new form of entertainment has arrived. (Not a new TV show. Personally, I've been watching a lot of K-Drama (open in new tab) lately.) This creative new challenge comes from fashion brand Alexander McQueen. The brand is inviting everyone to create a three-dimensional flower (opens in new tab) using materials found in their own homes.

The challenge, which runs from now until April 14, encourages DIY enthusiasts and McQueen lovers to share their floral creations on Instagram with the tag #McQueenCreators, with a chance to be featured on the brand's own Instagram Stories There are. People are already rolling up their sleeves and getting to work, like this user who made a beautiful "flower dress" out of paper towels wet with paint water:

Meanwhile, another crafty person made a gold flower out of repurposed aluminum food packaging:

This one is oven paper!

Here are a few other favorites from the challenge:

This 3D floral creation is the second challenge in the McQueen Creators series. Last week, users showed off their best sketches of the finale rose dress from the brand's Fall/Winter 2019 collection (opens in new tab). (After April 14, the third challenge will have to do with prints!) So, if you want to stay busy this weekend and exercise your creative skills, you know what to do.
