Killing Eve" Season 3: Everything We Know

Possible spoilers for "Killing Eve" Season 3. You're not the only one who watched the second season of "Killing Eve": the series has been viewed more than 100 million times so far on the BBC's iPlayer streaming service. The previous season had a ridiculous cliffhanger ending, with Eve being burned by MI6 and rejecting her would-be rescuer and lover, Villanelle. This is a mirror image of the ending of Season 1 and is to be applauded. These two characters could be on the run from the series' big bad, Twelve. And Eve's husband may starve to death in a warehouse thanks to Villanelle. Whew.

All of this is easier to swallow now that a third season is planned. Can you imagine if we didn't know the answers to these questions? Here is what we know so far. We will update this article as soon as we know more.

Season 3 will premiere on Sunday, April 12 at 9pm ET/PT on both BBC America and AMC.

It will then air on BBC iPlayer in the UK on April 13 at 6 a.m., followed by a primetime broadcast on BBC One on Saturday, April 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Another season, another talented female writer (open in new tab), in this case Suzanne Heathcote, writer of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 3. Phoebe Waller-Bridge, executive producer of "Killing Eve," said, "We are very excited that the baton of 'Killing Eve' is being passed to another great writer for Season 3." In the hands of Suzanne Heathcote's hilarious killer, the characters are safe and we can all sleep soundly." Heathcote seems pleased:

This is essentially turning into a tradition of a new showrunner each season, with a different style, but keeping the (furiously tense) pace of the show. For Season 2, Emerald Fennel was given the very difficult task of continuing the action-packed first season, but not suffering from a second-year slump.

Sadly, there are reports that Hugo and Raymond, characters who were in terrible shape at the end of season 2, will not return. However! Like last season, there will be new faces this season (opens in new tab):

And here's Danny Sapani joining the cast:

Also, RIP Hug-he was greatly entertaining, so it's a shame he's not back. Raymond was super dead, so I'm not surprised.

Spoiler alert if you thought Eve was really dead in Season 2 (yeah right - this show knows what fans come for): Sandra Oh has been spotted on set as well as in the Season 3 trailer (open in new tab), so she's back in some form There's no doubt about it. What state she's in is another story.

And of course, the award-winning Jodie Comer is back. No word yet, however, on how the two feel about each other or how they will interact. According to Fennell, next season will be much darker (how is that possible?). But we want to see more of the two of them.
