At this odd time of year, any good news makes a world of difference. From Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively (open in new tab) to Ciara and Russell Williams (open in new tab), my heart grows tenfold when I hear a celebrity couple give back.

That's why I'm happy to share the news that the nonprofit Power of 10 is partnering with Capital One to give back to restaurants and support their outreach efforts. More than 30 local restaurants across the U.S. will benefit from this collaboration, providing meals to frontline healthcare workers and other members of the community.

"We will continue to come together to support restaurants by providing jobs for our employees and meals for our neighbors until we can gather again at our favorite neighborhood restaurant," says Eric Bruner-Yang, a Washington, DC-based chef and restaurateur.

The way Power of 10 works is that the restaurant receives $10,000 a week to hire a full-time staff of 10 and prepare 1,000 meals for those in need. So far, over 20,000 meals have been distributed. We all know that in times like these, a warm meal served with love can make a huge difference.

"Restaurants play an important role in uniting the communities we serve. We were eager to do our part in this urgent and unprecedented time of need," said Andy Navarrete, head of external relations for Capital One Financial.

"We appreciate the opportunity to work with Eric and Power of 10 to support restaurants, put restaurant workers back to work, and provide meals to those on the front lines of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
