Dascha Polanco talks about skin care, homemade hair masks, and productivity

Actress Dascha Polanco needs no introduction: the star of Netflix's "Orange is the New Black" is full of self-love. Her Instagram hashtags "selflovery" and "ismellgood" include A+ content on masking (open in new tab), dancing in the kitchen after a workout (open in new tab), and bathing (open in new tab). Not one to shy away from feel-good beauty habits, Polanco shared a masking moment with MC on the latest episode of Masked and Answered. Polanco talked about beauty while doing her quarantine activity, spirography (open in new tab), and shared some skin care and hair tips.

Polanco tried the Treat Mint Skin Care Mask (opens in new tab) ($30). Speaking of acne, Polanco has a morning and evening skincare routine to keep blemishes at bay. She incorporates retinol into her P.M. routine and never travels without eye cream. And to protect her skin at all times, she loves CeraVe's Mineral Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50 for Face (opens in new tab) ($15). Says Polanco, "It's a matte, ultra-lightweight moisturizer that I love because I don't like anything heavy on my skin."

"I feel most beautiful after a bath or shower, when my skin is glowing, my hair, nails, and feet are clean, and after a workout. I always feel my most beautiful when I've done my to-do list and completed my tasks. No one can tell me what to do!" Two snaps to all the women who, like Polanco, get things done and look beautiful while doing it.

You'll never guess what she applies over the occasional pimple: Vicks Vaporub (open in new tab) ($5). She's more of a lip balm than lip gloss person and keeps Blistex (opens in new tab) ($2) in her bag. For hair, she likes to make a moisturizing cocktail in the kitchen as a hair mask. She adds egg and rosemary oil to avocado and puts it on her scalp as a "hot oil treatment."
