(opens in new tab) and little Archie have "continued to try to get in touch" with Meghan since she moved to Los Angeles (opens in new tab) earlier this year.

The 75-year-old retired lighting director, who now lives in Mexico, has been trying to reconnect with his daughter by "sending letters" to the homes where Meghan and Prince Harry (opens in new tab) are staying, Us Weekly's sources say, but his efforts have so far been in vain and his "letters are un . remains unopened."

The relationship between Meghan and her father (opens in new tab) has been strained for some time, but things came to a head in the spring of 2018 when it was discovered that he had staged paparazzi photos in the weeks leading up to Meghan's royal wedding (opens in new tab). Initial reports indicated that Thomas would attend the ceremony and walk his daughter down the aisle, but he ultimately missed the wedding, citing health issues.

Thomas claimed that Meghan and Harry had basically shut him out, but eventually court documents revealed that Meghan had expressed concerns about Thomas (open in new tab) at the time.
