Read MoreMeghan Markle has been under a relentless and racist media bullying onslaught since her relationship with Prince Harry was revealed. The royal family has not stood up to correct false stories about Meghan, and in fact, according to royal biographers Omid Scobie and Caroline Durand, they have actively prevented royal officials from speaking out about the lies. in July 2019, a Kensington Palace spokesman officially denied the claim that Kate had received "baby Botox," as Scobie and Durand point out.
"There are people, whether they work with the family or are part of the family, who know that a lot of this stuff is not true and are not allowed to say anything," said Meghan's "trusted confidant" in an excerpt published by The Times of London (in a new tab open in new tab), told Scobie and Durand.
One such false story that the royal family did not correct, despite "several aides throughout the royal family" confirming to Scobie and Durand that it was not true, was "Princess Meghan's 'demanding demands' at a fitting for bridesmaids, including Princess Charlotte, which led to Kate infamous claim that she was in tears".
"The story is ridiculous and very false," one insider told biographers.
Those involved who were present at the fitting said the occasion was a bit stressful. The attempt to fit a room full of small children with formal dresses, one would imagine, was very different from the story the media ran. 'Some of the kids were not cooperative, and there was a lot going on,' she said. But it's not easy to get kids to participate in a fitting. There were no tears from anyone. In the end, the fitting went well. Kate and Megan were both a little stressed, but there were professionals in the room and other people there."
Another hoax article 'reports that Megan "made fun" of Kate's staff (presumably Deputy Communications Secretary Katrina McKeever), resulting in an "enraged" Kate intervening. According to Finding Freedom, "even Kensington Palace didn't understand this bizarre story." McKeever left her duties at the Palace for "new opportunities," but was on good terms with the Sussexes, so much so that "a handwritten letter and a large floral arrangement were sent when she left."
"It was open season on Lady Meghan," Scobie and Durand wrote. They felt that "women of color like her were being labeled as demanding or aggressive. With countless false and racist stories about Queen Meghan dominating the media and a gag order from the royal family preventing her and her friends from refuting them, it is no wonder the Sussexes stayed away from the royal family.
