Jennifer Lawrence boldly pioneers new ugly shoe trend with $6,000 Loro Piana wrap coat
Jennifer Lawrence has both feet firmly planted in the era of comfortable shoes. Truly inspiring.
Since announcing her second pregnancy, the star has been photographed wearing countless quirky flat shoes. First it was a pair of black suede Charvet slippers, styled with a bright yellow Bode button-down and black pants, and again the next day with a white T-shirt and black maxi skirt. Next she picked up a pair of Puma Speed Cat OG sneakers in classic black for a hot-girl stroll with Dakota Johnson in late October, which she swapped for coffee brown sneakers and a black trench coat in November. She also temporarily wore Loewe's Rise loafers and The Row's Hugo Slides. But now, the No Hard Feelings actor seems ready to start a new ugly shoe trend, thanks to Haflinger's navy wool-covered Grizzly clogs.
On December 17, Lawrence strolled around Los Angeles in a Ugg Tasman slipper lookalike with striped socks and a Loro Piana wrap coat. A brown silk jacket was layered with a bright blue hoodie and navy sweatpants, and finished off with what appeared to be The Row's Bindle Bag, a diagonal hobo style that perfectly encapsulates the winter 2025 bag trend.
How Lawrence came across these cozy wool-felt clogs from the German company is anyone's guess. It seems certain that it is a practical yet inadvertently stylish shoe that new moms would recommend to each other in a group chat, but the trend for excellent ugly shoes all depends on this enigmatic element. To garner silent nods of both bewilderment and respect is the whole point of wearing ugly, incongruous shoes in the first place. Those in the know know.
