Travis Kells Hosts Taylor Swift's Epic Tour Wrap Party in Kansas City
After reports of a very low-key birthday celebration last weekend, Taylor Swift threw a big party in Kansas City this week. But it wasn't officially Swift's 35th birthday (technically December 13); it was to mark the end of her record-breaking Eras tour, which ended on December 8 with a nearly two-year run in Vancouver.
Travis Kells was reportedly the mastermind behind the Eras tour-themed event, from the decor to the dress code.
According to Page Six, Jojo Edwards-Halea, wife of Kelce's former Kansas City Chiefs teammate Clyde Edwards-Halea, confirmed that Kelce was the party's planner, writing on TikTok, “Congratulations party was. And a surprise from Trav."
Brittany Mahomes shared a carousel of party photos on Instagram, showing off her glittery Fearless/Midnights-inspired silver and blue ensemble and husband Patrick Mahomes' tuxedo The event was a great success.
Brittany Mahomes also shared snaps from the party, including one with Swift and Lindsay Bell.
But perhaps the best party photos came courtesy of Kelce's good friend and former NFL player Ross Travis, who shared a coupling photo of Kelce and Swift and a particularly fun photo of Swift dancing while wearing sunglasses and holding a microphone high above her head (the second carousel photo, so don't miss it), and shared his own carousel.
According to People, the party decorations also included friendship bracelets scattered across the table. This was a nod to both the fan-driven tradition of exchanging friendship bracelets with each other at Eras tour shows and Swift and Kels' upbringing as a couple.
As Kells revealed on his brother Jason Kells' podcast New Heights, he tried (and failed) to give Swift a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it when he attended an Eras Tour concert in Kansas City in July 2023 (and failed).
“Well, I was disappointed that she didn't speak before or after the show because I had to save my voice for the 44 songs she sings. So I was a little disappointed that I couldn't give her the bracelet I made for her,” he said in a podcast at the time (according to Us Weekly magazine), ”I got a lot of bracelets from being there, but I wanted to give Taylor Swift one with my number on it.” He added.
