Nancy Meyers never intended “Holiday” to be a “Christmas movie.
“Holiday” director Nancy Meyers had no intention of turning her 2006 cult film into a “Christmas movie.”
“I know it's called ‘Holiday’ because you take a vacation, but if it had been summer, it would have been called that,” Myers explained
during a recent appearance on the “Hollywood Gold” podcast (via People).
To be fair, I like that this ultimate Christmas movie was a sober accident.
Also on the podcast, Myers revealed that when Kate Winslet's character runs around Cameron Diaz's character's house in Los Angeles, they are all real rooms built for the movie. So that's pretty cool
Another surprising tidbit about “Holiday” was revealed this week. It's the fact that the daughter of the character Sophie, played by Jude Law in the film, is now a 25-year-old woman with a 4-year-old daughter.
Miffy Englefield has not acted since 2011 and is now a content creator on TikTok, where she frequently shares aspects of her family life with her young daughter Frankie.
In one video, Englefield also talks about his time on “Holiday,” what the cast was like (very friendly and welcoming), does he keep in touch with anyone (not really), and would he be open to acting again in the future (yes), Frequently asked questions answered. [If you haven't seen “Holiday” yet, now is the perfect time. And if you're looking for more engrossing Christmas movies, Marie Claire has compiled a list of the best available on Netflix right now. You're welcome!
