Prince William's beard has sparked a new cosmetic surgery trend called the “Prince William Effect.
Kate Middleton has long been hailed as a style icon. Clothing worn by Princess Kate Middleton has become known as the “Kate effect,” as demand from shoppers has skyrocketed. Now, it seems that Princess Kate's husband, Prince William, is finally having the same effect on the public.
Earlier this year, Prince William debuted his beard. Since then, Prince William's beard has become a regular feature at official royal events. In addition, the prince has reportedly inspired other men to imitate his facial hair, with some going to extreme lengths to achieve the look

According to the Express, one clinic in Turkey has seen a huge increase in inquiries about beard transplants in recent months.
Murat Alsac, co-founder of the Este Nove Clinic in Istanbul, has dubbed the increased interest in the procedure the “Prince William effect. Alsac told the magazine, “The number of transplants we are doing has increased by 200 percent. People bring in pictures of Prince William on their cell phones and say, 'Make me look like that.' They think it looks rugged and masculine."

Not everyone was an instant fan of Prince William's new facial hair, however; in November, Prince William revealed his negative reaction to his daughter Princess Charlotte's beard. During a visit to Cape Town, Prince William confessed that “Princess Charlotte didn't like the beard at first,” (via People). 'At first she burst into tears and shaved it off.'
Fortunately, William was undeterred by his daughter's shocked reaction and grew his beard back. I grew it out again,” he says. I thought, 'Wait a minute,' and I convinced her that it was okay."

Over the weekend, Prince William visited Paris for the reopening of Notre Dame Cathedral. During his visit, Prince William spent time with world leaders, including Donald Trump. In an interview with the New York Post, Trump detailed a “sad” conversation he had with the “very handsome” prince.
“I asked him about his wife and he said she was doing well,” Trump told the magazine. He continued, “I asked him about his father and he said his father is fighting very hard and he loves him and he loves his wife.”
