Kate Middleton's family played a “pivotal” role in the Royal Family's most “traumatic year.”
The British royal family faced many challenges throughout 2024, especially after King Charles and Princess Kate were both diagnosed with cancer. According to new reports, Kate Middleton's family has been very supportive and has since been welcomed further into the royal family.
Katie Nicole, royal correspondent for Vanity Fair, said in an interview on The Sun's “Royal Exclusive” program, “The Middleton family has been very, very welcomed by the royal family. They were very close and had a lovely relationship with the late queen.”
Nicole also suggested that the Middletons have had a “good relationship” with King Charles since Queen Elizabeth passed away in 2022. After all, Carole and Michael Middleton and their children appear to have “played a very important and significant role this year.”
When it comes to the holiday season, Nicole believes that Kate's parents may be invited to Sandringham to spend Christmas with the royal family. 'Because that's where the problem with Sandringham lies,' she says. 'It sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? There isn't enough space, why wouldn't they?'
It is also worth noting that Princess Kate and Prince William have their own home nearby, Anmer Hall, and Carol and Michael may stay with them during the vacations. Nicole explains, “Anmer Hall is a stone's throw from Sandringham.”
It was previously reported that Princess Kate was planning a “rival” Christmas party at Anmer Hall. The Daily Beast claimed that Princess Kate's parents, Carol and Michael, would attend the event, which would be “noted for its studied casualness.” However, the magazine also claimed, according to sources, that some members of the royal family are “waiting to see what Prince Charles' health will be like in the coming months before making any plans.”
