Prince Andreou's Business Advisor Accused of 'Spying' and Expelled from the U.K.
Following his feud with Prince Charles over the Royal Lodge in Windsor, Prince Andreu may be embroiled in yet another controversy. According to several reports, an advisor to Prince Andreu has been expelled from the UK amid allegations that he is a “spy.”
As reported by the BBC, the man, referred to in the documents as “H6,” lost his appeal to the Special Immigration Appeals Board on his right to enter the UK. The judges were told that the businessman was trying to leverage Prince Andrew's influence,” the BBC reported, noting that the ‘alleged Chinese spy’ had an ‘unusually trusting relationship’ with Lord York.
In a published decision, the judge said that “H6” “represents a risk to the national security of the United Kingdom and ... His exclusion is justified and proportionate.”
“H6” became known to the British Border Police and MI6 in November 2021, when, according to the BBC, his electronic devices were found to have problematic communications.
A letter to “H6” from Dominic Hampshire, another of Prince Andreu's advisors, stated (via the BBC). 'Outside of [the Prince's] closest confidants, you sit at the top of the tree that many, many people would like to be.' He continued, “Under your guidance, I have found a way to get the relevant people in and out of Windsor's house unnoticed.”
The magistrate's ruling upholding the original March 2023 decision to expel “H6” from the United Kingdom stated that the advisor had “gained an unusual degree of trust from senior members of the Royal Family and was prepared to conduct business activities with him.” The judge also suggested that “H6” may have been trying to take advantage of Prince Andreu, who was under “considerable pressure” at the time. . which could make him vulnerable to the abuse of that kind of influence.”
The Chinese Embassy in the UK responded to this claim with “baseless ‘spy’ stories targeting China. It continued, “Their aim is to smear China and obstruct normal exchanges between Chinese and British officials.
