Tyler Perry has an unusual comment about the "beautiful family" of Meghan Markle and Prince Harry
While Prince Harry was debunking divorce rumors at a New York event, Meghan Markle stepped into Beverly Hills for a Paley Honors tribute to Tyler Perry on May 12. 4. On the red carpet, Perry talked about the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, giving royal fans an unexpected insight into the couple's relationship.
"They love each other," Perry told E! News. He continued, "They have a beautiful family and I just want to do my best for them.
Perry also addressed the close connection he shares with Sussex. As well as being the Godfather of film director Princess Lilibet, he let Harry and Meghan stay at their Beverly Hills home when they first moved to the United States in 2020.
"It's a real, pure and beautiful friendship," Tyler said. "I love them."The director won the prestigious Paley Honors Award at the Fall gala and was supported by many talented people, including the Duchess of Meghan.
During an episode of the Duchess of Sussex's Netflix series, Harry & Meghan, Perry mingled that they asked him to become the Godfather of Princess Lilibet "They were pretty serious on the phone," he explained (via people). "I go,"Well, what's going on?"They said, "Well, we want you to be Lili's Godfather.""I go," Oops.He continued, "I had to take a minute to take it. And I thought, "I would be honored." I would be absolutely honored.
However, Perry had some provisions regarding becoming the Godfather of Princess Lilibet. "I called them and said, "Uh, wait a minute — this means we have to go [to the UK] and do all of that [in the royal family] and in the church and figure out everything,"" he explained. "Maybe we can do a little private ceremony here (in the US) and make it that, and if you don't do it there'"
