Shortly after President Donald Trump's Republican nominee won the 2024 election overwhelmingly and secured a series of pivotal swing states in a race where the majority of voters radically shifted to the right, he named his future Chief of Staff Susie Wiles.

Trump will be the first president to secure the White House after being convicted of felony crimes and found to be responsible for sexual assault.

President-Elect Trump wasted no time announcing the 66-year-old Wiles as his future Chief of Staff, calling her "tough, smart, innovative" and "universally admired and respected" in a statement obtained by CNN.

As the country prepares for the 2nd President Trump, here's what people should know about the 47th President's Chief of Staff.

According to CNN, Wiles was arrested in Washington, D.C.C.I have been working for many years in the industry. As of Thursday, as a lobbyist, he has been listed as co-chair of the offices of Mercury, a national lobbying company in Florida and Washington DC.

According to OpenSecrets, in 2024, Mercury has a total of 66 clients, collecting a total of88,925,000 from these companies to lobby on behalf of policy and lawmakers.

According to CNN, it is currently unclear whether the 66-year-old is "moving away from her position at Mercury" after President-Elect Trump's transition team or his future Chief of Staff did not respond to requests for comment.

Wiles made a political start in 1995 when he helped John Delaney become Jacksonville's first Republican mayor since the reconstruction era. Wiles continued to work for the presidential campaign and administration of New York Congressman Jack Kemp and former President Ronald Reagan.

Wiles is the daughter of the iconic football broadcaster, Pat Summerall. For starters, Summerall has worked for both CBS and FOX for a staggering 41 years, but announced his retirement after the 2002 season.

In the 21st season, the Summer All・soccer legend called the game alongside the John Madden pair became the most prominent broadcast duo on network television.

In 2013, Summer All died of cardiac arrest at the age of 82.

Unlike many people on Trump's political trajectory, Wiles worked behind the scenes of the campaign.

"Susie kind of likes to stay behind," Trump said Wednesday after asking Wiles to address the crowd at a victory party. Wiles publicly refused Trump's invitation and instead gave the microphone to co-campaign manager Chris Rasivita.

"She hates being in the limelight," Delaney said earlier this year to USA Today.

When Trump takes office, Wiles will be the first woman to hold a position in U.S. history.

"She's great, tough, strategic," Florida Rep. Democrat Jared Moskowitz posted on X (formerly known as Twitter) on Thursday after President-elect Trump made the announcement of his Chief of staff.
