Will Smith once farted so badly on the “Men in Black” set that he evacuated for three hours

Will Smith is a quibbler, says one director who has worked with him several times (just in case).

Barry Sonnenfeld, director of “Men in Black,” who also directed Smith in “Wild Wild West,” appeared on the podcast “Let's Talk Off Camera With Kelly Ripa.”

Sonnenfeld explained that he has a lot of great stories to tell, but he was more on the set of... He chose one of the more scatological stories.

The director explained that he was preparing to shoot a scene between Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, and said, “Tommy doesn't suffer fools.

Director Sonnenfeld said, however, that the co-stars love each other.

The scene was to be filmed in an “enclosed” car rig to capture the actors “going through the midtown tunnel upside down.” [Like when you used to get on an airplane from the tarmac, they would bring in a ladder with wheels, put it up there, put you in it, turn you upside down, and get you ready for the shot. There's a lock so it doesn't open and fall.”

But just when the crew thought they were ready, there was a ~glitch in the plan.

“I said, ‘Turn the camera around.’ And Will Smith said, 'Oh my God. Tommy, I'm so sorry. Tommy, I'm so sorry. Buzz, get the ladder.' [And Tommy said, 'It's okay, Will. Don't worry, Will. Don't worry, Will. Tommy stretches his legs and runs down the stairs when the ladder comes over. Some people just do that. You don't want to be in a small enclosed space with Will Smith farting. You don't want to sit next to him at the Disney ranch.”

Lipa laughed at this admittedly hilarious story and asked what happened next.

“We evacuated the stage for about three hours. 'He's a lovely guy, but he farts. Some do, some don't.' [21] [22] Well, for me, it's one more fun fact!
