Prince William says he wants to “take on the issue of homelessness” while promoting his new documentary.

Prince William shares his ultimate philanthropic goals while promoting his upcoming documentary focusing on homelessness.

On Saturday, October 5, Prince and Princess William released a preview clip from their new film, “Prince William: We Can End Homelessness,” on the couple's official X (formerly Twitter) and official Instagram accounts.

“I think it's really important to change and tackle the narrative around homelessness,” Prince William said while facing the camera, after someone asked him off camera where his passion for this particular issue comes from and why he decided to focus on it, He replied.

“People live with it. We see it every day of our lives. That's what I want to challenge.”

According to the same post, the documentary will be available on both ITV and ITVX in the near future.

A record 653,104 people in the U.S. experienced homelessness overnight in January 2023, up more than 12% from the previous year, according to the National Coalition to Help the Homeless.

A comprehensive analysis by Shelter England with official homelessness statistics estimates that 1 in 182 people in England experienced homelessness in 2023.

In an effort to change the conversation around homelessness and end homelessness, Prince William has reportedly spoken to his three children (Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis) about the issue.

“On the way to school, we talk about what we see,” William told The Sunday Times in 2023. 'When I was in London, driving back and forth, I used to see people sitting in front of supermarkets. I think it is in the interest of all of us and the right thing to do to help children understand, at the right stage and in the right dialogue,” he continued. 'Some of us are very fortunate and some of us need a little help.'

Prince William has shown off his advocacy on camera, said to have been inspired by his mother Princess Diana's passion for ending homelessness, but those who have worked with the crown prince in the past say he “does so much off camera.”

“What he enjoys most,” said Mick Clark, chief executive of the homeless charity Passage, in an interview with The Sunday Times in 2023, “is meeting real people and hearing real stories.”

“That's why he made his plans. When he comes here, nothing is sweet, nothing is sanitized,” Clark continued at the time. 'People on the street can tell in an instant if someone is real or not. He's the real thing."
