Unfortunately, a meeting between Prince Harry and King Charles this month is “highly unlikely,” sources insist.

Whether Prince Harry, who will visit the United Kingdom later this month, will meet with his estranged father, Prince Charles, is a hot topic of conversation among royal watchers and experts.

As the visit to the UK draws near, a source has offered a valuable insight into the possibility of a father-son meeting.

Apparently, Harry will stay in the immediate vicinity of Buckingham Palace on this trip, but not at the royal residence, the Express reports.

A source interviewed by the magazine also explained that while he believes it is definitely possible that the two will meet when Harry is in London, it should not be expected.

“The King will be heading south in late September,” the source said.

“The King and Queen will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Scottish Parliament on September 28 and then have a few free days.

“Discussions are currently ongoing about finding a mutually agreeable place in the diary.

It is unclear how many days Harry will ultimately be in the UK, but it appears that he will be visiting specifically to attend the Wellchild Awards on September 30. Following recent patterns, he may stay only one or two nights, making it even more difficult for him to meet his father, the monarch. [Even if the king decides to head to London on the evening of Sunday the 29th for a meeting scheduled for earlier that week, it is highly unlikely that he will have time to meet his son,” the source continued.

“It has not yet been decided whether His Majesty will be heading to Highgrove at the tail end of Scotland or to London, or what his plans are for that week. Harry will also be visiting by plane and his travel plans are already booked and organized.

However, not all hope is lost, the source concluded, “Nothing is set in stone, so there is still a chance that something could work out, but it seems unlikely.”

Prince Charles reportedly declined to meet with Harry during his visit to the U.K. in May, citing his busy schedule, and did not meet with Harry during his visit in August. Then in February, after the King revealed that he had been diagnosed with cancer, Harry immediately flew to England, but was only able to see his father for about 45 minutes.
