Prince Harry reveals how being a “second father” has changed him.

This week, Prince Harry made a solo trip to New York City to attend several important events. In addition to supporting a number of charitable organizations, the Prince made a personal confession about becoming a father for the second time after the birth of Princess Lilibet.

On September 23, Prince Harry spoke at a special reception for the HALO Trust. Prince Harry's late mother, Princess Diana, famously worked with this humanitarian organization that works to remove landmines and explosives around the world; in 2019, Prince Harry followed in Princess Diana's footsteps by visiting a minefield in Diliko, Angola.

“Since my first visit to Huambo in 2019, a lot has changed in my life and in the world,” Harry told the audience. 'In those five years,' he continued,

'I became a father for the second time.' 'And while we don't need children to be involved in the future of our planet, my mother would have been horrified to know whose children and grandchildren would be living in a world still infested with landmines.' [Senator Christopher Coons of Delaware paid tribute to the Duke of Sussex's charitable efforts.

“Prince Harry, thank you for your leadership, your heart, your vision, keeping your mother's legacy alive, and inspiring a whole new generation around the world to engage in this important work against the scourge of landmines,” Coons said.

Harry's solo trip to New York also proved that he is a doting father to Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet; as reported by People, before speaking at the event, Prince Harry sent a FaceTim from backstage to his wife Meghan Markle and two children, Archie and Lilibet sent a FaceTim to.

Kiara Liyanti Hutapea Chan, one of the recipients of the Diana Legacy Award, spoke about the adorable moment they witnessed.

“And backstage, he was actually calling Megan,” Chan told People. “I thought that was so sweet and it really helped humanize him.” She continued, “He's a very kind-hearted person.”
