Kendall Jenner, naked manicure and pedicure - baring it all in Paris

Kendall Jenner bared it all in more ways than one when she attended Rosalia's Paris Fashion Week birthday party on September 25. Styled by Dani Michelle, she was dressed in an Alexander McQueen gown, a tight dress that blended in with her skin tone.

On closer inspection, however, Jenner's look is another nod to the naked dress trend.

Dubbed “mannequin nails” or “soap nails” by Tom Bachik, a nail artist who works with Selena Gomez and Jennifer Lopez, the fall 2024 manicure trend is all about short tips and subtle color choices. Mannequin nails are a spin-off of the milky pink bubble bath nails that were all the rage over the summer thanks to celebrities like Lopez and Meghan Markle, and the super sheer nails that appeared on the Proenza Scourer runway in February by legendary nail artist Jin Sun Choi. But the fall trend is all about using skin-matching nude colors and neutral polishes to create a seamless, flawless look.

“For pure minimalist elegance, soapy nails will continue into fall,” Bacik previously told Marie Claire beauty editor Samantha Hollender.

“Think of it as perfectly, freshly manicured nails, meticulous cuticles, and a natural square shape, buffed to high-gloss or finished with a sheer milky nude.”

Kendall Jenner's homage to the naked trend extended to her hair, which was dyed rich girl blonde by hair colorist Jenna Perry during New York Fashion Week. Perry says she was inspired by 90s It Girl Caroline Bessette-Kennedy. But Jenner's monochromatic neutral look has us wondering if we should warn Meghan Markle.
