Prince Charles reportedly keeping Sarah Ferguson out of the royal spotlight

Sarah Ferguson is away from royal duties and Prince Charles is reportedly keeping her out of the spotlight.

In a recent interview with Sky News Australia, Prince Charles, royal expert and author of A Voyage Around the Queen, revealed that the Duchess of York is “not the King's cup of tea” and suggested that Ferguson has not been with members of the royal family since Easter She suggested a potential reason why Ferguson has not been with members of the royal family since Easter.

Others point to the ongoing dispute between the King and his embittered brother, Prince Andrew, over the Duke of York's security detail and his current residence at the impressive (and expensive) Royal Lodge.

Recent reports in the Sun on Sunday and the Times have estimated that King Charles spends nearly $4 million a year on Prince Andrew's security at the Royal Lodge.

Apparently fed up with the personal expense burden, the King is no longer willing to foot the bill and is reportedly trying to evict his brother from his current residence.

Since King Charles has refused to arrange for replacement security, it is unclear where Prince Andreu will live next or whether he will have to foot the bill for personal security himself.

(For those who don't know, Ferguson and Prince Andrew still live together, despite their divorce in 1996 after a 1992 separation.)

One possible location is Price Harry and Meghan Markle's prior residence, Frogmore Cottage. Reportedly, the more modest mansion is more reasonable for the controversial royal family and is a home that King Charles would consider suitable.

According to Angela Mollard of the Daily Mail, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson should at least make the decision to move into Frogmore Cottage for the sake of their daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie. [The 65-year-old duke will never regain his reputation. He is an old, dirty, damaged article, and no amount of charity or churchgoing with the more virtuous members of the family will change that,” Mollard wrote in a recent column.

As reported by InStyle, the ongoing tensions between Prince Andreu and King Charles, and the fact that Ferguson is not in a very good position within the monarchy, may be one of the reasons why he is not filling in for Princess Kate as she continues to recover from her recently announced completed cancer treatment. It is possible that this is one of the reasons.

No doubt it is the same reason that the Duke and Duchess of York have not been substituting for King Charles.
