Prince William has a new bearded right-hand man.

Prince William has a new right-hand man, and the first thing everyone noticed was the man's impressive beard.

Lieutenant Commander Mike Reynolds will serve as the Prince of Wales' new rider, reports The Sun, and as seen in a photo released in 2020, Reynolds proudly displays his abundant facial hair.

But that's not the only thing the two have in common. The new royal employer is a trained helicopter pilot just like William, having previously served in the Air Force Search and Rescue and East Anglia Air Ambulance.

William's facial hair was a new development, first revealed in a social media video posted in August to celebrate Team GB's performance at the Olympics.

At the time, royal fans shamelessly and publicly clamored for royal facial hair and were downright devastated when he shaved it off a few weeks later.

But! William knows that the public will give him what he wants, and earlier this month he brought back the beard. So far, that beard seems to be staying.

As for what exactly the Iqueries do, the Sun describes their role as a kind of personal secretary to the royal family. According to Metro, they are on call to help the royal family in both public and private life and will remain in that role for three years.

As those who have seen “The Crown” may know, Princess Anne's husband, Sir Timothy Lawrence, was one of the late queen's closest aides.
