Princess Kate attends church in her first public appearance since completing cancer treatment.

Princess Kate made her first public appearance since announcing that she has completed chemotherapy for an unspecified cancer.

On Sunday, September 20, the Princess of Wales attended a church service at Cratty Kirk Church near Balmoral Castle in Scotland, alongside her husband Prince William and her parents-in-law, King Charles and Queen Camilla.

In a photo obtained and published by The Sun, Kate Middleton can be seen sitting next to her husband in the passenger seat of the car, smiling briefly. The royal wore an outfit very similar to her churchgoing attire in the past, including a trip to the same church the royal took last month.

For example, Middleton's recent Sunday morning attire included what appeared to be the same dark brown hat from Hicks & Brown featuring a feather ornament (she wore the same hat when she attended the same church service last year).

This rare public appearance came in the wake of an emotional social media video announcing that the Princess of Wales had officially completed preventive chemotherapy for an unspecified type of cancer. (The royal family has yet to announce the type of cancer Princess Kate was diagnosed with earlier this year. Prince Charles has also not announced what type of cancer he is battling.)

“What a relief it is to finally finish chemotherapy as the summer draws to a close,” the royal announced.

“These past nine months have been incredibly hard for our family. As you know, life can change in an instant and we have had to find our way through rough waters and unknowns.”

The cancer journey is complicated, scary, and unpredictable for everyone, especially those close to you,” she continued.

“Being humbled forces you to confront your weaknesses in ways you may not have considered before, and that gives you a new perspective on everything.”

Recently, Kate Middleton attended her first work meeting for the Royal Foundation Center for Early Childhood at Windsor Castle on September 17.

It was the first meeting the princess had attended since starting chemotherapy this spring.
