Prince Harry “excited” to turn 40, reveals he was “anxious” at 30

Prince Harry can't wait to turn 40.

Ahead of his milestone birthday on September 15, the Duke of Sussex released a statement to the BBC detailing his feelings about the big day.

“I was anxious about turning 30, but I'm excited about turning 40,” Harry revealed.

Harry turned 30 in 2014, which, according to a BBC News report, was a few months after he returned from serving in Afghanistan and shortly after his breakup with ex-girlfriend Cressida Bonas. [2014 was also the year Harry founded one of his most cherished projects, Invictus Games, which is still going strong a decade later.

“No matter how old I get, my mission is to keep showing up and doing good in the world.

“Being the father of two incredibly sweet and funny children has given me a fresh perspective on life and sharpened my focus in everything I do.

“Being a father has been one of the greatest joys of my life and has made me more motivated and dedicated to making this world a better place.”

Of course, the past decade has been incredibly tumultuous for the prince, who met a certain Meghan Markle in 2016 They became engaged in 2017 and tied the knot in 2018; they welcomed their son Prince Archie, now 5, in 2019 and Princess Lilibet, now 3, in 2021.

Perhaps most significantly, in early 2020, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex announced their decision to step down from their duties as senior royals. They eventually moved from Harry's native England to Meghan's native California, where they have lived happily ever since.

More recently, Harry has continued to be involved in important projects he worked on as royalty, such as Invictus and Sentebale, while also working with Meghan on many other important issues.

Unfortunately, a dark cloud hanging over the Sussexes' new American life is their friction with other members of the royal family, especially King Charles and Prince William.
