According to Marie Claire, the Duke of Sussex will be celebrating with his wife Meghan Markle, children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, and other family and friends this weekend in Montecito, California, but partying aside, the prince is eager to continue to direct his life in service to others Aside from the party, the prince is eager to continue directing his life in service to others.
“I was anxious about turning 30, but I am looking forward to turning 40,” the Duke of Sussex said in a statement to the BBC on Friday, September 15, adding, “No matter what age I am, my mission is to keep showing up and doing good in the world.”
Indeed, charity work, including the Invictus Games and projects through the Duke and Duchess of Sussex's Archwell Foundation, has been a top priority for the prince in recent years.
This summer, the couple launched The Parents Network, an initiative created to help parents whose children have been negatively impacted by social media.
Founded through the Archwell Foundation, the network aims to provide families with the tools to create a safer online environment, something Harry, a proud dad, is particularly passionate about.
“Being the father of two incredibly sweet and funny children has given me a new perspective on life.
Prince Harry called being a father “one of the greatest joys of my life” and explained that his children have made him “more driven and more dedicated to making this world a better place.”
As for the new decade, there is much for the Duke to look forward to, including the Vancouver Whistler Invictus Games scheduled for next February.
The longtime polo player is also executive producing a new Netflix documentary for Archewell Productions with the Duchess of Sussex and Chanel Pisnik.
As for Harry's plans for the new decade, the Duke of Sussex will not have to wait long to get into action. He will be in New York later this month visiting organizations such as African Parks and the Diana Prize during the UN General Assembly High Level Week and Climate Week.
“Let's embrace the next decade,” Prince Harry told the BBC on Friday, and by all accounts, he is entering his 40s with the same energy as his late mother.
