[32-year-old Alanna Gold (née Whitaker) grew up in Nobleton, a small town outside of Toronto, Canada, and according to LinkedIn, holds a bachelor's degree in health sciences from the Ontario Institute of Technology. He also earned a certificate in digital marketing from Cornell University in 2020.
Speaking to PEOPLE before the premiere of Season 8, Alana revealed that she could have had a different career. 'I was originally studying to be a veterinarian, so I went to college, but along the way I was scouted as a model,' she said. “Adam and I loved Pioneertown. Alana said of Pioneertown, “It was a great place to live.
“That place needed a lot of updating and we really wanted to bring it back to life. So it was a chance to really bring it back to life,” she added.
When asked if she would ever sell the property, Alana told the outlet: “It's very special and it's an opportunity I don't think will come again. I think it's something we'll hold onto. We really love being part of the desert”

When offered the opportunity to join Selling Sunset, Alana recalls that she “jumped at it,” but naturally felt “a little hesitation” about the big life change. She told PEOPLE magazine about her decision: “I went through a lot of emotions. I went through a lot of emotions, but at the end of the day I thought, 'What is life for? Just put yourself out there and seize opportunities when they come."
