The Outer Banks” Season 4: Everything We Know

Outer Banks Season 3 spoilers ahead; after a year and a half, it's finally time to return to OBX. The Outer Banks is one of Netflix's biggest hits, an action-packed teen drama with millions of devoted fans. Set in North Carolina, this must-see TV series has it all: treasure hunts, romance, class warfare, and enough gorgeous cinematography (and bikini inspiration) to make viewers eager for their next beach vacation, coming to Netflix in February 2023.” Outer Banks” Season 3, one of the show's biggest mysteries was finally solved.

Luckily for fans, OBX was renewed for Season 4 before the third aired. With just a few months to go until the next chapter in Pogue's journey, read on to find out everything we know so far about Season 4 of Outer Banks.

Netflix has confirmed that Season 4 of The Outer Banks will be released in two parts, with Part 1 hitting the platform on October 10, 2024 and Part 2 on November 7, 2024 with five episodes each. In other words, “The Outer Banks” will join the ranks of other Netflix hits that will air in two parts, including “Bridgerton,” “The Crown,” “Stranger Things,” “Emily in Paris,” “The Witcher,” “You” and “Cobra Kai.” (5]

The first teaser for Season 4 begins where the Season 3 finale ended. As John B. (Chase Stokes) says in voiceover, “That's where the story was supposed to end. But it was really just the beginning.” As flashes of treasure hunts and scuba diving play in the background, John reminds JJ (Rudy Pankow), “This time you have everything to lose.”

In OBX 4, all the Pogues return to the screen, including Chase Stokes (John B.), Madeline Klein (Sarah Cameron), Rudy Pankow (JJ), Madison Bailey (Chiara), Jonathan Davis (Pope), and Carasia Grant (Cleo). Coming up. Austin North and Drew Starkey also return as Topper and Rafe, respectively, and Fiona Palomo has been upgraded to series regular as Rafe's girlfriend Sofia.

Netflix also announced that David Jensen will play new treasure hunter Wes Jenrette (whom we saw in the season 3 finale), along with several new faces joining the series. New additions include: J. Anthony Crain, who will play Chandler Groff, “darkly grieving the loss of his wife.” Pollyanna McIntosh from “The Walking Dead” will play Dahlia, “a revolutionary-like leader, a plundering secular villain who comes face to face with Pogue.

Meanwhile, Dynasty actor Briana Brown will join as Hollis Robinson, a real estate agent and former colleague of Ward's who “now has his eye on Rafe for a new venture.” Rigo Sanchez will play Lightner, “an imposing stranger with piratical nerves who shows up to test Pogue.” Newcomer Mia Challis of Clickbait will play Ruthie, “a venomous wild child who develops an intimate relationship with Topper.”

OBX Season 3 ended with Pogue finding El Dorado's gold in Mexico, although Ward Cameron and Big John lost their lives in the process. After Sarah and John B. held a touching memorial service in memory of their father, the finale jumped forward a year and a half to a future where Pogue returned to OBX and was honored for solving the mystery of the 500-year-old El Dorado. They had plans (Pope is about to go to college, etc.), but a mysterious stranger tells them that he is looking for a partner to investigate a 1718 logbook that belonged to Edward Teach, aka Blackbeard.

The official description of Season 4 promises to take viewers “back in time” to the Blackbeard scene:

“After finding gold in El Dorado, Pogue promises to return to OBX and live a ‘normal’ life. They build a new safe house, officially named 'Pogelandia 2.0,' where they live together and run a fairly successful bait, tackle, and charter tour store. But after a financial setback, John B., Sarah, Kiara, JJ, Pope, and Cleo accept [Wes Jenrette]'s offer and are drawn back into the “G” game for a whole new adventure.

But before they know it, they are pursued by dangerous new enemies and caught up in a struggle for the treasure. Meanwhile, their problems only grow, forcing them to question their past, present, and future - what they really are, was it all worth it, and how much are they willing to risk?
