Read MoreThe latest news from Jennifer Lopez's week in the Hamptons isn't whether the star is still hung up on Ben Affleck or ready to make up. It's that the wedge sandal trend is officially back, with J.Lo's endorsement.
Lopez was photographed walking through the Hamptons on Sunday, July 7, in her dreamiest vacation outfit to date: a square-neck, ruffled pink maxi dress by LoveShackFancy with a tiered skirt underneath, gold-tone Gucci s espadrille wedges were glimpsed. (Both Lopez's exact dress and the towering wedge sandals were sold out.)
The rest of Lopez's off-duty attire combined easy summer cording with good old J.Lo charm. The height of her wedge sandals was paired with an equally high ponytail and silver hoop earrings. Her beloved Chloé sunglasses hid her face, and a $6,400 Dior cage bag, which she debuted on her solo vacation in Italy last month, swung from her hand. It was a perfect match for the seaside air of the Hamptons and the urban luxury of the city.
While spending the Fourth of July weekend on the opposite shore from estranged (allegedly) husband Ben Affleck, Lopez put on an informal Ralph Lauren show in front of the paparazzi or the lens of her cell phone camera. Wearing a floral blouse, wide pants, and Hamptons-approved flip-flops, she headed out to the lavender fields. A few days later, she was ready to ride her bike in a coastal prep sweater and the same brand of white jeans.
It's not too much of a stretch for the singer to wear almost exclusively Ralph Lauren, even if she usually sees her fans in Dior business casual or a sweatshirt with a rare Birkin bag. Lopez's rare appearances at New York Fashion Week are often in the front row at Ralph Lauren. Coincidentally, the designer will reportedly hold his next runway show in the Hamptons for the spring/summer 2025 season.
J.Lo may be hinting at an appearance at Ralph Lauren's next show with his Hamptons outfit, but he is not casually talking about his love for the wedge sandal trend. Along with Katie Holmes, who wore a pair of under-$100 wedge sandals earlier this spring, and Chloé's gorgeous front row of celebrities at Paris Fashion Week, including Sienna Miller and Georgia May Jagger, she's convinced that thick-soled sandals are back. In fact, Jennifer Lopez has worn Gucci wedge sandals several times this spring and summer. Hamptons or not, you'll find an equally frequent and worthy pair in the upcoming lineup.
