Scarlett Johansson turns the gingham trend into a red carpet-worthy pattern

Scarlett Johansson took advantage of the huge resurgence of the gingham trend for summer 2024 and brought the pattern to the red carpet. Actress Scarlett Johansson wore a matching gingham skirt custom-made by Prada to the New York premiere of her new film "Fly Me to the Moon."

While summery plaid has been a constant in celebrities' closets this season (most recently, Sophie Turner wore a summer shirt on a day date), this style has not been seen as an evening outfit. But Scarlett Johansson's Prada light mauve and white two-piece set made a case for gingham after dark. The name of the game was "Glam Gingham". The carefully tailored top was high-necked, sleeveless, embellished with glittery silver and pink embellishments, and cropped just above the waist. Two seams from the mid bust lead to a floor-length, structured skirt. A casual slit revealed metallic silver open-toed pinwheels.

Johansson was dressed by stylist Kate Young, who also works with stars such as Dakota Johnson, Michelle Williams, Rachel Weisz, and Sienna Miller. Her accessories and glamour were simple yet sparkling. She wore two diamond-studded orbs dangling from her ears, Durian Fruits earrings by jewelry brand Taffin, and two bold brown diamond rings. Johansson's blonde hair was styled in a soft, curly updo. Makeup consisted of a glossy pink lip, pink blush, a summer trend, and icy pink eyeshadow. [The feminine, pin-up look matches the era of the upcoming film and Johansson's role. Johansson plays Kelly Jones, a marketing consultant hired to fix NASA's public image by staging a fake moon landing as a backup in case the real one fails.
