Bella Hadid proves that an Adidas soccer jersey looks amazingly chic in jean shorts

[Celebrities like Katie Holmes, Selena Gomez, and Jennifer Lawrence are in the thick of shirt summer. While most are keeping it low-key with classic button-ups and neutral bottoms, Bella Hadid has suddenly gone sporty, sporting an Adidas soccer jersey and jean shorts.

After a few days of returning to the horsegirl trend and lounging in her favorite affordable bikini brand, the Orêbella founder returned to New York on Thursday, July 11 for some classic promotional work. Specifically, Hadid presented the new Adidas Originals campaign in Times Square, wearing a World Cup-appropriate outfit styled by Molly Dixon.

Hadid wore a red and white vintage Adidas jersey with Levi's 501 shorts. (The proportions are the opposite of her sister Gigi, who just a few days ago opted for a small crop top and shorts at Adidas.) Instead of draping her shirt over her denim, Hadid tucked her jersey into her shorts, draped a piece of fabric over her legs, and tied the whole look together with a black leather belt.

This woman can go from the summery eyelet lace trend to the most naked dress on the Cannes red carpet the next day. Bella Hadid is a fashion chameleon and a bit of a risk-taker. Still, I'm still a little surprised at how chic Hadid looks in a tucked-in jersey. Dark, sharp sunglasses, huge gold hoop earrings by Monica Vinader, and Adidas SL 72 sneakers. (7]

Coinciding with the Times Square billboard unveiling, Hadid modeled a classic Adidas T-shirt. She posed under the campaign in an Instagram story, holding a flower in one hand (and showing off a new angle on unconventional jersey styling). The model also released several snaps of her meeting fans and handing out flowers.

When Bella Hadid last graced New York, she was hitting the pavement to promote her fragrance Orêbella while showing off the beginnings of her styling relationship with Molly Dixon. One day it was in sky-high Gucci platform loafers straight off the runway, and another day it was Ferragamo reviving the Capri pants trend. If Hadid plans to stay in New York before returning to her Texas ranch, another fashion marathon is likely to ensue. For now, her unexpected sporty attire deserves a double take.
