Victoria and David Beckham re-wear "90s-style" purple wedding outfits.

Victoria and David Beckham's 1999 wedding made fashion history with their over-the-top purple reception outfits. Posh Spice wore a plum one-shoulder dress by Antonio Berardi and Becks a matching double-breasted suit; the day before their 25th wedding anniversary, the couple brought their iconic outfits out of storage and photographed them.

"Look what we found... " the Beckhams wrote in a shared Instagram post. In the portraits, Victoria and David Beckham pose in their original outfits in all their grape-colored glory; as on their wedding day 25 years ago, Victoria wears wraparound metallic sandals and David wears purple oxford brogues to match. Both looks were interspersed with flashes of red fabric in the form of floral decorations

.

These were not the only outfits Victoria and David Beckham wore on their wedding day. Victoria chose a custom Vera Wang gown for a very intimate ceremony attended by only 29 guests. This first dress was more traditional, a corseted bodice in champagne satin. Mr. Beckham also went the (slightly) more low-key route, exchanging vows in a matching champagne suit.

A reception followed, and about 230 guests packed Ruttrellstown Castle near Dublin, Ireland, to view the Beckhams' aforementioned purple outfits. Their eldest son, Brooklyn Beckham, also matched his parents in a small purple tuxedo and cowboy hat. The rest, as is often said, is canon.

David Beckham has previously shared their wedding look with the public; for their 22nd wedding anniversary in 2021, the soccer star posted several portraits of him and his wife on their wedding day.

Years later, in a Beckham documentary last year, the couple fondly recalled their unconventional wedding style as being "very '90s."

"I thought back to when we decided to wear the purple suits. I don't know when that happened," David Beckham said in an interview for this series. 'I think Victoria led me on. But ...... I don't know what I was thinking."

Victoria Beckham, a successful designer of luxury ready-to-wear and beauty brands, defended the nonwhite wedding look." We weren't worried about what people would say," she explained in the series.

"I mean, how nice to be that way when you really don't care."

The couple celebrated their next anniversary as carefree as their style choices. According to the Daily Mail, they are currently sailing off the coast of Sardinia, with their children (and their children's partners) in attendance.
