Tennis great Serena Williams seems to be taking a page from Sherri XCX's fashion and incorporating the "Brat Girl Summer" trend into her summer wardrobe.

On Saturday, July 6, Williams took to Instagram to share a video highlighting the breezy summer outfit she wore during a surprise visit to Ultra Beauty Salon to greet shoppers of her makeup brand WYN.

GOAT wore a simple bubblegum pink mini dress featuring thick straps and a slight flare, complemented by a Brat Girl summer-approved green slide.

"Yesterday I popped up on @ultabeauty and surprised some @wyn shoppers," Williams playfully captioned the video. You never know which @ultabeauty I'll "pop up" on. p.s. Don't mind my messy room."

The trend of Brat Girl Summer, and in particular the decision to embrace what is called Brat Green, is sweeping the year 2024.

The album's signature slime green art quickly became an Internet phenomenon, with #BratGreen going superfluous on Instagram, garnering over 2.6 million tagged posts; on TikTok, fashion brands such as Kate Spade have launched " Brat Starter Pack" and the color itself began appearing on everything from Trader Joe's chalkboard signs to Brat Brand's Bratwurst.

In a recent interview, Charli XCX admitted that she specifically and deliberately chose this eye-catching, almost obscene, even controversial color.

"I want people to question our expectations of pop culture. Why are some considered good, some accepted, while others are considered bad? I'm interested in the story behind it, and I want to inspire people."

Serena Williams is playing with summer 2024 trends, including a timeless denim look.

"Paris was fun, but I still have to see if I look good in this skirt - fingers crossed... LOL," Williams captioned the post, while telling herself in the video, "Don't be negative if it doesn't work out."

Spoiler alert: The skirt still doesn't fit, so Williams promises fans another video to document the end of her denim skirt journey.

Williams is also clearly defending stylist Alison Bornstein's incorrect shoe theory. It suggests that fashionistas around the world deliberately wear shoes that juxtapose with other parts of their clothing to create a more interesting overall look.
