Jennifer Lopez makes an unexpected stop at Dior's Paris Couture show, looking svelte.

Vacation mode came to Jennifer Lopez's closet on Monday, June 24, when she returned to the fashion circuit after a vacation in Italy for Dior's Paris Couture Week show.

Despite the sweltering 80-degree Fahrenheit heat in Paris, Lopez was photographed leaving her hotel in a toe-to-toe khaki Dior look with lots of draping and concealing layers. Working with the styling duo of Rob Zangardi and Marielle Henn, Lopez opted for a boardroom-appropriate khaki midi dress with a twisted neckline, belted waist, and full midi skirt. As an excuse to add more layers and show off her shoulders a bit, she threw a slouchy khaki coat with a waterfall collar over the top.

Lopez had Dior on vacation in Italy last week. On Monday, she chose Dior's black Lady Dior bag (she also has a green one) and wore metallic gold arched heels. Her sunglasses were sharp, angular frames that conveyed the CEO's energy.

Lopez also made a point of supporting the opera glove trend with her outfit. The elbow-length black leather gloves, appropriate for Edith Wharton's heroine, have become a fixture on recent runways, including several seasons at Dior. The gloves gave the singer's look an even more regal aura, but also raised some questions given the season. (7]

Perhaps the accessory was a sophisticated way to divert attention to her ring finger. Lopez and husband Ben Affleck have reportedly been estranged in recent weeks, and this weekend Affleck was photographed in California without his wedding ring.

Relationship speculation aside, Lopez is balancing her transition from vacation mode to work mode well. (She spent last week sunbathing off the coast of Italy in a refreshing matching set of swimsuits costing less than $100. ) While that trip was probably meant to be fun, she also did some incidental work.

Lopez's layering may have been heavy, but her khaki dress resembles a more breezy option that belongs in easy work attire, whether attending Paris Couture or not.
