When we think of Sarah Jessica Parker, we think shoes. Of course, as the legendary Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City, she wore the striking Manolo Blahniks. But she's also known off-screen for her sense of heels, so much so that she launched her own shoe line, the SJP Collection. And yesterday, she proved once again the preeminence of her shoes.

Parker was spotted in her native New York wearing shoes that are a cross between kitten heels, ballet flats, and Mary Janes. Her shoes boasted an unusual silhouette, combining the most iconic (and disparate) elements of each style: the black leather was adorned with a small bow at the toe and a string of pearls at the foot bridge.

SJP paired these eye-catching shoes with minimalist outfits. Light gray slacks with side slits at the ankles, a white oversized quarter-sleeve button-down that doubled as a dress for her 6'5" frame, and of course, a branded tote bag. Her blonde hair is in long mermaid waves and she wears a large cream-colored flower hairpin.

The mashed-up shoes were perfect for Parker's off-duty wardrobe and Carrie Bradshaw's fictional closet full of funky shoes and mary janes. (In Season 4 of SATC, Bradshaw gasps when she sees Manolo's mary janes and declares, "They're urban legend shoes!" (a scene in which he declares, "They're urban legend shoes!"). Parker was on the set of the "Sex and the City" spin-off "And Just Like That," and behind-the-scenes photos show many looks from the show's third season.

Earlier this month, Parker was spotted on set wearing white patent leather Mary Jane pumps by Maison Margiela, paired with a distressed Avant Denim skirt. In another BTS photo, she was wearing chunky black Gucci Mary Jane pumps. Elsewhere, she wore a Simone Rocha floral applique mesh coat over a matching corseted mesh dress, carried a Gucci Jackie bag with bijoux, and wore a giant gingham hat.
