Read MoreIt has officially been 10 years since Jennifer Lopez released her eighth studio album, A.K.A., in 2014. To mark the occasion, Lopez celebrated the moment with not one, but three nearly naked looks from the iconic era in her latest Instagram post.
O.G. fans remember where they were when Lopez first dropped the flaming red A.K.A. album cover on June 13. And now, in a carousel posted on Thursday, June 27, Lopez has posted an image from a recent photo shoot by Stephen Gomillion that copies and pastes the look, from the outfit to the hair.
As with the original cover, J.Lo capitalized on the nearly naked trend for her Instagram post; the "First Love" singer posed in a full Versace look in front of a golden background. Her outfit is a bright red corset, topped with cutouts and buckles all over. The fashion house's Medusa decorations also adorned the straps.
With the help of celebrity stylists Rob Zangardi and Marielle Henn, she paired the barely there top with a skin-tight shiny skirt that hit just above the knee high on the hips.
J.Lo nailed the look down to the smallest detail. She wore the exact same jewelry as on the cover, completing the outfit with a chunky gold Versace Medusa bracelet and coordinating necklace, a chunky silver ring and gold dangling earrings.
The 54-year-old styled her honey blonde hair, by Lorenzo Martin, into a super-long, voluminous half updo. For glamour, she showed off her tanned skin and completed the look with a glossy nude lip.
"Ten years of A.K.A.," the multi-hyphenate captioned her nostalgic Instagram post.
J.Lo's fiery red look was not the only outfit she recreated for the festive moment. In another post by the photographer, Lopez also captured another set of images inspired by her beloved alter ego (and one of her most notable musical eras), "Jenny on the Block."
Lopez is wearing a hooded sequined ensemble. She completed the outfit with a bold red lip, large silver hoop earrings, and matching bedazzle pumps
.
For the third and final costume change, she fully committed to the nearly nude look. The next slide of the Gormillion post shows Lopez in a mesh dress studded with silver rhinestones. She wears a white bralette underneath, and her maxi-length dress is embellished with white sequins, covering the lower back. For accessories, she wore a white fitted hat and white Jeffrey Campbell platform ankle "Rita" booties, the ultimate relic of 2014.
Lopez's throwback post was in response to the May 31 U.S. tour "This Is Me...Live," which was scheduled to run from June through August. . Live," which was canceled. The tour was scheduled to be Lopez's first in five years, since her 2019 "It's My Party" concert, which celebrated her 50th birthday.
Still, it's clear that Lopez is finding ways to make up to her fans for her sudden, last-minute cancellation, and she seems to be starting by recreating throwback moments, because it's J.Lo's thing (and Leo's thing), and in the coming weeks, especially her birthday in July day, there is bound to be more to come.
