Jennifer Lawrence remixes Mary Jane's trend in the most laid-back way

At the Day・date in New York City on Monday 6/17, Jennifer Lawrence is adding a twist to Mary Jane's trend ・ literally.

Meeting with her husband, gallerist Cooke Maroney, Lawrence cut off her usual rich mom style by stepping into what looks like Alaïa Mary Janes's version of the traditional single-strap design that is sold under Lawrence-certified brands including Lo. Instead, the pair of actresses have two cross-crossed leather straps with side buckles. They're like a punk alternative to lace-up pointe shoes: edgy, but still a little docile.

In the costume, Lawrence tried a classic styling trick: fitting her twisted Mary Jane into her bag. Her apparel will be relaxed and a little moody thanks to the oversize Burgundy button-down- the easiest shirt trend of summer and a pleated skirt with wallpaper-like prints (in this case, a small leather top handle that has not yet been ID'd) approved by Selena Gomez this week. It was a great experience. Forget about the traditional summer color palette: Lawrence showed that even on the hottest days, you can mesh with the scheme of autumn colors.

The Chris Crossing Mary Jane Ballet Flat is a new style for Lawrence. So far, she has spent most of the summer in another shoe trend with insider charm: mesh flats. The pair of Lowe and Alaia have been her best choice everywhere, from the city of New York to the airport on their way to Dior's cruise fashion show in Scotland.

The star of No Hard Feelings is getting out of her usual shoes, but she's also nodding to a potential it-shoe trend in making. The Hybrid Flat, a cross between Mary Jane's and a leather ballerina, has won several awards in international street style through various brands such as Barry (the luxury Runway version) and Vagabond (a more affordable, but still celebrity-approved brand). You are starting to get a play.

When Jennifer Lawrence wears the shoe trend once, there is a strong possibility that she will wear it again. The actress loves to repeat the costumes (and accessories). Believe her twisted Mary Jane will make more cameos in her street style before the summer is over — and maybe they will
