Selena Gomez tests two bright color trends during filming in New York City

After closing the Custom Saint Laurent's Cannes International Film Festival red Carpet and bringing home her first Best Actress award, Selena Gomez returns to New York City and is not so busy. Case in point: While filming the next season of the only murder in the building on Wednesday, May 29, Gomez also appeared first in an amazing fuchsia dress while the founder of two vibrant, but very different, spring-colored

rare beauties walked around the show's upper West side set. It was taken. Her Rebecca Valance dress, probably pulled by costume designer Dana Kovalbias, featured an elbow・long puff sleeve and a grid of textured, fuzzy fabrics. The dress is designed in the corner of Valentino's PP Pink collection (which launched the first wave of all magenta in fashion in 2022) and Barbiecore palette in 2023 (it is also sold out, but fans can join the waiting list to match Gomez.

During the take, Gomez added sunglasses and an off-duty staple of all actors: a pair of Ugg slippers. (The exact credits of her shades were not available at the time of the press.

It was not enough for Gomez to start the day with colors that were still inevitable — or rather, her on-screen alter ego, Mabel Mora. After a while, she changed to another outfit, which can also serve as an everyday spring outfit: a cornflower blue sweater and a mini with coordinated stripes This spring, two pastel pieces winked in the trend of light blue colors that make the way from Fendi to Bottega Veneta.

However, Gomez did not make this shade a head-to-toe moment. Instead, she switched her palette with a pair of bright red leather boots — putting the "wrong shoes" theory into action with styling tips to add more contrast to the look of contrasting shoes. Once again, the exact piece she wears has not yet been posted online.

Gomez's on-set outfit is a big departure from the style story she has been writing with Erin Walsh in recent weeks. To prepare for Cannes and promote the unusual beauty, Gomez is primarily leaning on romantic, vintage-inspired pieces by a mix of marquee runway designers (such as Balmain and Oscar de la Renta) and up-and-coming labels (such as Matisevski). She is also a test-driven revived fashion trend, like the chic white peplum dress she wore to arrive at Cannes.

Of course, Gomez doesn't necessarily dress like herself when she's a character — and throughout the murderous four seasons, she's embraced an eclectic coat and a range of knits that collide unexpectedly. Today's glimpse in her upcoming seasonal wardrobe does not come with a sprinkle of style inspiration: spring and summer in full bloom around the corner even twice a day.
