For Emily Ratakowski, the first Monday in May, or the Met Gala, was an unforgettable evening filled with sheer, see-through, and mesh. Not only did the supermodel take this year's "Garden of Time" theme and give it a naked twist, but she also took a '90s-inspired approach to this extreme trend at the after-party.

On Monday, May 6, Ratajkovksi headed to the official Met Gala after-party, AprèsMET, which he co-hosted with Carlos Nazario, Paloma Elsesser, Raul Lopez, Lenel Medrano, and Francesco Risso. At the WSA building in downtown Manhattan, the 32-year-old was photographed wearing a sheer violet slip mini dress from Alexander McQueen's Spring/Summer 1998 collection for Givenchy.

Her dress, styled by Jordin Bickham and sourced from the Los Angeles store Tab Vintage, was made of violet mesh fabric and embroidered with blue stars throughout. The neckline and skirt were embellished with multi-colored fringed beads; Ratajkowksi's #OOTN revealed a black Victoria's Secret bralette and high-waisted thong underwear.

Ratakowski completed her ensemble for the late-night extravaganza with a glittery black mini bag and Rene Caovilla gladiator-style sandals.

Whether off-duty, on the catwalk, or on the red carpet, Ratakowski always goes "bold or go home" with her style. The host of the "High Low" podcast has long been a fan of the sheer trend in particular, and it seems unlikely that the controversial style will leave her wardrobe anytime soon, even at the 2024 Met Gala.

That evening, Rutakowski added a revealing twist to the Met Gala theme, "The Garden of Time." [It was a long-sleeved, crystal-studded ensemble from Atelier Versace's Fall/Winter 2001 collection. This long-sleeve ensemble with crystals from Atelier Versace's Fall/Winter 2001 collection.

Whether on the steps of the Met Gala or at the after-party afterwards, Emily Ratakowski strutted her own personal style on the red carpet. While "The Garden of Time" was interpreted in many different (and mostly literal) ways, the supermodel added her signature touch to a look with plenty of sheer, hard-edged archival pieces on fashion's biggest night.
