Taylor Swift Wears Katie Holmes' Favorite Gucci Loafers in "Fortnite" Music Video

Taylor Swift gave fans plenty of Easter eggs with the April 19 release of her 11th album, The Tortured Poets Department, and the music video for its lead single, "Fortnight." Swift fans scoured the visuals for clues about her life, but they may have missed Swift's borrowing of one of Katie Holmes' official spring outfit staples in the video.

In the Post Malone duet scene, Swift and her co-star lie on a pile of pages while reading a book titled "Us." (The two are dressed almost identically in oversized black coats, black pants, and black Gucci Jordans loafers.

The outfits, put together by Swift's longtime stylist Joseph Cassell, are modest compared to the sparkly Celine mini-dresses and Poor Things-style jackets Swift wears in other scenes in the video. They are also rooted in designer staples that celebrities can't afford not to wear.

When Katie Holmes is not making the sneaker trend, she often walks around Manhattan in Gucci's black Jordan loafers. Her styling is less "torturous" than Taylor Swift's. Instead, Holmes displays everyday glamour by pairing them with jeans, a spring transitional jacket, and her customary Mansur Gavriel tote bag; the day before Tortured Poets was released, she paired them with an album-worthy black trench coat.

Holmes is not alone in considering these loafers a wardrobe staple. The editors of Marie Claire magazine chose it as the best loafer with a designer tag, citing its sophistication and beauty, as well as its clever fold-over heel, which allows it to be worn as a slip-on mule. Other celebrity fans included Kirsten Dunst, Lucy Hale, and Karlie Kloss.

The Swift-Holmes fashion crossover was bound to happen at some point, given the stars' similar approaches to street style. Both men often mix high-end designers such as The Row, Chanel, and Gucci with affordable staples. Swift is a repeat customer of Free People and Reformation, while Holmes is an avid fan of Everlane.

Of course, only Swift is known for hiding hints about music in her outfits. Whatever she is trying to say with her Holmes-coordinated loafers, fans can at least guess that this black pair is an endorsement of her wardrobe. The timeless, music video-worthy black loafers can be found below.
