Selena Gomez and her boyfriend, hitmaker Benny Blanco, sat courtside at a Knicks game on a recent date. But the New York team's big win over the Sixers was nothing compared to Gomez's game-stopping attire.

The singer, actress, and makeup mogul wore a burgundy oxblood leather trench coat. She paired this tie-waist jacket with a black ribbed dress and black embossed patent leather knee-high boots.

Already a statement outfit, Gomez kept her accessories and glamour pieces minimal yet bold: she wore large gold hoop earrings by Mejuri, tied her hair back, and added a red lip.

Gomez is no stranger to statement coats. Earlier this month, she wore a long black leather trench coat in a Hertha Matrix style. Before that, she wore a slightly oversized, ankle-grazing pastel pink blazer coat by Staud. Last month, she wore an Old Hollywood-style black leather trench with a fluffy fur collar by designer Nour Hamour. And let's not forget the all-white moment with the matching overcoat.

Life Imitates Art: Her character in Only Murderers in the Building often appears in a trench coat. Classic khaki trench coats, sheer trench coats, black and white herringbone trench coats, fuzzy yellow trench coats, shearling trench coats, the list goes on and on.

Gomez and stylist Erin Walsh may have gone for a different dressing regimen after date night attire: on Tuesday, April 23, Gomez attended the Time 100 Awards in yet another detective-worthy trench: this time in black leather, with a patent leather underneath dress.

"Her whole concept was that basically her costume is a kind of armor," the show's costume designer, Dana Covarrubias, told Elle last year about dressing Gomez for her on-screen role. 'So she's using really bright colors, just like a brightly colored fur-clad animal: beware. Dangerous. Dangerous. Dangerous. Perhaps Gomez's trench coat collection will grow for the Season 4 premiere.
