An “unusual” hobby enjoyed by Queen Camilla until tragedy struck in 2024.

Read MoreAnya Taylor-Joy is currently working on a style rebranding based on ethereal fabrics and an all-black palette, and in anticipation of her April 16 birthday, the now 28-year-old embraced the dark side, attending the Brooklyn Museum of Art's Dior Pre-Fall While attending the show, she remixed the runway's sheer trend.
The brand ambassador attended the runway for Dior's Fall 2024 collection, her second this year, wearing a sleeveless black gown with see-through mesh at the shoulders and a midi-length pencil skirt. The gown was designed, as expected, by Dior Creative Director Maria Grazia Chiuri. Taylor-Joy's look and the entire collection paid homage to the androgynous style of legendary 1940s actress Marlene Dietrich.
Taylor Joy often styled herself for big events, accessorizing with sophisticated thin leather belts, pointed-toe pumps, and Old Hollywood opera gloves. The entire look featured plenty of sheer fabrics, a detail that was present on the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 runways.
Working with makeup artist Georgie Eisdel and hairstylist Gregory Russell, the "Queen's Gambit" star leaned toward a gothic aesthetic with elaborate smokey eyes and a ponytail set with a thick black headband.
Taylor-Joy's dark ensemble wasn't just for Monday's Dior show; at Dior's couture show in Paris in January, she brought an edgy element with her combat boots.
Both looks show a dramatic shift in the actress's wardrobe, both on and off camera. Taylor-Joy has been leaning toward grunge in recent weeks, perhaps dressing for the film Furiosa: The Mad Max Saga. In the upcoming project, she plays Imperator Furiosa, a member of the biker gang and a younger version of the character played by Charlize Theron in 2015's Mad Max: Death Road to Rage.
Earlier this week, Taylor-Joy went to a New York Knicks game with her husband Malcolm McRae and wore super sexy lace-up leather pants. She paired the punk-inspired bottoms with a ribbed white tank top and a fitted black leather motorcycle jacket.
The "Queen's Gambit" star also embraced the rock star aesthetic at CinemaCon in Las Vegas last week. In doing so, she wore a studded halter dress from Ludovic de Saint-Sernin's Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
So far, it looks like the actress' style change is just beginning. Taylor-Joy's next project will be unveiled on May 24.
