John Legend (opens in new tab) has released a new song that, in John Legend style, will kick your feelings straight to the curb and blow all the wind (and sarcasm) out of your body.

The song is called "Conversations in the Dark," and the singer released it along with a touching lyric video featuring home movie-like footage of a couple in love.

John released the single after news that he would guest star (open in new tab) in an upcoming episode of NBC's hit sob drama This Is Us.

Details of John's role in the drama are still officially under wraps, but a recent promo clip shows John on stage behind a piano, seemingly hinting that the Grammy winner will be playing himself.

But back to the song. John's wife, Chrissy Teigen (open in new tab), is as obsessed with the song as any other fan and shared a touching post on Instagram promoting the song.

"My heart ? John's new song, and hopefully yours ? #ConversationsInTheDark is streaming now!" Chrissy (open in new tab) wrote the caption along with a clip from the "Conversations in the Dark" video.
