Kate Middleton in New Needle & Thread Dress for UK-Africa Summit
Kate Middleton and Prince William, along with the Princess of Wales and the Earl and Countess of Wessex, arrived at the UK-Africa Investment Summit Reception at Buckingham Palace. Kate looks like she's wearing a new outfit and I love it. It is so sparkly! You can see all angles of this dress (opens in new tab).
The gown is Needle & Thread and looks like a cherry red Aurora gown, although I'm not sure if it was altered. She loves this color and looks amazing in it (opens in new tab). She has worn Needle & Thread before (opens in new tab).
She completed the look with matching pointed heel pumps and a small clutch bag. It's easy to get a bridesmaid-esque look, but it looks just a tad darker. (This is what Kate does best).
Interestingly, Sophie Wessex also wore red to the same event (opens in new tab). Twin sisters, twin sisters! Sophie's is much simpler and less sparkly, so I doubt if you know what I mean.
Kate and William probably won't talk about their ongoing family drama, but there are reports that the two siblings engaged in a "confidential" discussion (opens in new tab) that helped mend the rift between them. Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were not there, but contrary to what the tabloids suggest, this may not be a big deal. William and Kate look a little stressed, but they'll be fine! And in his speech, William mentioned Harry (opens in new tab), albeit only briefly.
Thanks to a shot by The Royal Family, here's the dress:
Here's a shot of the gown in motion:
I love it.
