For most people, spring is beach season, but in Park City, Utah, the first blooming season of the year is a treasure trove of fresh powder snow, a quieter time after the annual Sundance Film Festival, and a choice of delicious dining and entertainment It also means plenty of good dining and entertainment options. While there are numerous ski towns on the West Coast, Park City has its own history as a silver mining town. Although silver is no longer mined, Park City has a sustainability commitment to 100% renewable power by 2032, set against the backdrop of fantastic mountains. Plus, there is plenty of fun to be had.

Skiing may be at the top of your wish list, but staying at Pendley Park City in Canyon Village will allow you to escape the hustle and bustle of Main Street. With panoramic mountain views, a hot tub, heated pool, and on-site spa, Pendley Park City is a dream for skiers and those who prefer to unwind. Skiers and snowboarders can get fitted for equipment at the on-site Compass Sports and head to the lifts, which are within easy reach. Live music can also be heard at Canyons Village, which is within walking distance of Pendley Park City.

BOOK IT

Park City is known for its top-notch powder. It is also one of the largest ski resorts in the U.S. and a great place to spend time on the slopes. Get an Epic Day Pass (opens in a new tab) or sign up for lessons to hone your skills. If you want to spend some cultural time, get tickets to the film festival, tour the city's art galleries, and enjoy live music and dancing at the Egyptian Theatre.

If you find yourself in town, visit the High West Distillery (opens in new tab) on Main Street. Wait for a table by the outdoor fire pit with a glass of hot cider mixed with whiskey in hand. You can also book an educational whiskey tour and lunch at the High West Distillery's operations center, about 20 minutes outside of town.

For a lively but sophisticated atmosphere, head to App's Pendry for live music, seasonal cocktails, and snacks like fondue and oysters. Then enjoy wings and beer at the Umbrella Bar in Canyon Village. Or take the town lift to Main Street and hang out at the legendary No Name Saloon (opens in new tab), adorned with deer antlers and vintage ski memorabilia.

Your palate will be surprised at Kita, a Japanese grill-style restaurant where you can dine indoors, bar-side, or outdoors if spring weather permits. For appetizers, order the sushi, seared octopus, and dry-aged New York strip. While trying new recipes, the chef is known for sending out innovative new menu items.

For a laid-back ski lodge atmosphere in Canyon's Village, grab a table in the lounge area of The Farm. Indulge in homemade cheeses, shishito peppers (one out of seven has a good chance of making you sweat), duck and wild mushroom cannelloni, and drink up one of the award-winning wines from the restaurant's wine cellar.

If you like pizza and arcade games, head to Disco Pizza for full pies, pasta, handmade milkshakes, and select cocktails.
