Will Damian and Gigi from "Love is Blind" actually get married?
If you, like me, have an unhealthy obsession with Netflix's "Love Is Blind," (opens in new tab) join me in pondering the question that has kept you up soundly all week: will Gigi aka Damian and Giannina really get married?
Netflix has done the interesting and terrifying thing of not dropping all episodes of "Love Is Blind" at once, and fans can watch the show's finale, titled "The Weddings," on Thursday, February 27, at 3 a.m. ET on Netflix's tab is anxiously forced to queue up. (In the previous episode, we got a glimpse of Damien and Gigi's wedding until the moment they meet at the altar, Gigi says "I do," and patiently waits for Damien's response. Then the screen goes black.
Damian does not appear to be crying while Gigi walks down the aisle. Frankly, they look like tears of fear. Probably because he doesn't say "I do" back." Both Damian and Gigi admit that they went through in four weeks what it would normally take a couple two years to go through (essentially the point of the show). Gigi even showed Damian "all sides of herself" and gave him a speech that will go down in reality TV history:
Gigi says to Damian from the kitchen, "You know, I've been in the kitchen a long time. Have you noticed I don't compliment you back? I wouldn't say it was the best sex of my life either... Why don't you initiate it? Why don't you seduce me? I'm jumping on you every second." Why don't you look at me and accept me? I don't understand. Why don't you seduce me?
Ouch.
As for what happens next, this morning Gigi posted an Instagram of herself with a cup of coffee, along with a sun emoji and the caption, "Drink up buttercup, today's gonna be a big day. Although the final episode does not technically air at midnight, Gigi may be referring to the episode that airs at midnight. In the photo, she is wearing a ring that is clearly not a wedding band; is this to confuse fans?
Fans are also convinced that Gigi is the runaway bride Netflix showed in the trailer for "Love is Blind."
After all, I love Damian and Gigi. We'll see what happens tomorrow.
The season 1 finale of "Love is Blind" premieres Thursday, February 27 on Netflix.
