Brook Linen Launches Dream Weighted Comforter

Brook Linen Launches Dream Weighted Comforter

Weight blankets have become increasingly popular over the past few years for their effectiveness against anxiety, stress, and sleep problems. Frankly, you probably already have one. But customer-favorite sleep brand Brook Linen (opens in new tab) has come out with a very important upgrade.

Most weighted blankets are not designed for sleep. Nor are they generally the most chic home accessories, with the exception of Bearaby's chunky knit weight blankets (opens in new tab), which are made for comfort rather than looks. So instead of simply launching a weighted blanket, Brook Linen (opens in new tab) decided to launch a weighted comforter in a size that fits the bed. They can be stylishly fitted into a space without sacrificing the comfort of a weighted blanket.

A little background on how they are made: the Brook Linen weighted comforter features an inner quilt layer weighted with glass microbeads and a 400-thread-count satin cotton shell. It also has loops at each corner for easy attachment to the inside of the comforter so it won't slip out of place in the comforter when you toss and turn.

The comforter comes in three bed sizes and various weights. Twin/Twin XL is 15 pounds ($249), full/queen sizes are 20 pounds ($349) and 25 pounds ($369). There are also two options for the King/California King comforter: 30 and 35 pounds, which sell for $399 and $419, respectively. If you are unsure which size to buy, the brand recommends that you consider both your weight and bed size and follow the general rule of thumb of approximately 10% of your body weight to find the right option for you. If you are in the middle of the size range, the brand recommends going up a size.

Brook Linen also recommends that you slowly start sleeping with a blanket, as your body needs to get used to the weight. According to the Brook Linen brand's recommendation, sleep with the quilt over your legs for the first five days and then use it to cover half of your body for the next few days. Once it feels comfortable, it can be used to wrap around the body completely.
