Prime Minister Johnson said in a video that he was tested after mild symptoms, specifically a "fever and persistent cough," and is currently in isolation at 10 Downing Street. Prime Minister Johnson emphasized that he will "continue to lead the national fightback against the coronavirus" while using "the wonders of modern technology" to communicate with his staff. [In a statement to The Guardian (opens in new tab), a Downing Street spokesman said, "Following a mild episode yesterday, the Prime Minister was tested for coronavirus on the personal advice of Professor Chris Whitty, Chief Medical Officer for England. The test was carried out by NHS staff at No 10 and the result was positive."
