Until just a few weeks ago, the 2020 elections dominated the news. Our main concern was who would take the lead in the Democratic primaries and whether we would have to watch another seemingly ineffective debate. It all seems small when dealing with a global pandemic and trying to understand the number of people suffering directly and indirectly (opens in new tab), the medical workers who are risking their lives (opens in new tab), and the millions who are unemployed (opens in new tab). Voting seems like a daunting task, especially in the socially distanced (opens in new tab) world we currently live in. States across the U.S. have already postponed their primaries (open in new tab) until the summer.

But even in the midst of this quiet war we are fighting, we must not forget the forces of change. We are witnessing the importance of electing leaders who will help our country weather the darkest times it has ever experienced. That is why we must remain focused on fulfilling our civic duty by voting in the 2020 primaries and, before long, in the general election on November 3, 2020.

We know a lot is going on right now. It may not seem like it at this moment, but there is hope for a better future.
