Hospitals do not have sufficient medical supplies to combat COVID-19
Deciding where to focus our efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic can be incredibly overwhelming. Certainly staying home will save lives, but the healthcare workers who are forced to interact with coronavirus patients without masks (opens in new tab), the nurses who wear garbage bags (opens in new tab) to protect themselves, and the hoarding instead of being sent directly to hospitals
So there we are.
So we decided to spotlight some of the major groups and organizations that are raising money for COVID-19 medical supplies. If you can afford it, please consider donating to one of these foundations (or your local hospital).
The Centers for Disease Control raises funds for medical supplies, along with emergency staffing of U.S. public health agencies, laboratory capacity building, and assistance to vulnerable communities. Facebook doubled all donations and helped the CDC reach the $10 million match. This fundraising effort is still ongoing!

The largest GoFundMe for medical supplies is hosted by an organization known as Flexport.org. The organization helps move supplies from factories and get them to responders quickly and efficiently. As of press time, GoFundMe has raised over $6 million of its $10 million goal.

The World Health Organization has established a response fund to combat the pandemic. Donations will not only be used for medicines, but for WHO's strategic preparedness and response plan:

Two individuals, Adam Alpert and Erin Alpert, are in the epicenter of the pandemic, New York City's medical They are raising funds for protective clothing for New York City medical workers in the epicenter of the pandemic. They have raised more than $100,000 so far.

UCLA has launched a fund (open in new tab) to raise money for personal protective equipment (PPE) for healthcare workers, patient and family care, social services, and immediate response for essential equipment like ventilators

Gelareh Mizrahi, a Miami, Florida-based handbag designer, is raising funds to purchase PPE for hospitals nationwide.

Project C.U.R.E., an organization that delivers donated medical supplies and equipment to underdeveloped areas, is currently focused on COVID-19 relief efforts and through its ProC.U.R.E. program is a life-saving They collect life-saving equipment and supplies through the ProC.U.R.E. program. MasksOn GoFundMe is raising funds to develop a full-face snorkel mask with breathing filter, an alternative to standard PPE equipment. They plan to mass-produce mask adapters via 3D printing and distribute them to hospitals and clinics nationwide.
