Meghan Markle's Favorite Jewelry Brands

Meghan Markle's Favorite Jewelry Brands

As a Meghan Markle fan, I take pride in knowing every little detail about the royal family, from her son's full name (opens in new tab) to her taste in shoes (opens in new tab). (By the way, these are the six brands (opens in new tab) she always wears.) There is much to learn about the Duchess of Sussex (opens in new tab) just by studying her style. She wears pants (opens in new tab) in all situations, sometimes literally. She is an advocate for strong women (as evidenced by her relationship with Clare Waight Keller of Givenchy). She is bold, fierce, and an independent thinker. Yes, that last bit was an exaggeration. But if you've followed her fashion for as long as I have, you know that Meghan's personality, and by extension her style, is more openly bold (opens in new tab) than the other women in the royal family.

But as much as she experiments and pushes the envelope in her wardrobe choices, Meghan's taste in jewelry is the exact opposite. It is simple and unadorned. She wears delicate rings, necklaces, and earrings (with the exception of the huge one she wore to Prince Charles' birthday party (opens in new tab)) for everyday wear, as well as to lavish galas and receptions. Her accessories never make a loud statement, but rather blend nicely with her tailored dresses and pants. As with shoes, Meghan comfortably combines a variety of jewelry brands, from luxurious to affordable. Here are seven of her go-to brands for when she's not borrowing tiaras (opens in new tab) from the queen's private collection.

On several occasions, Princess Meghan has been spotted wearing her friend Jennifer Meyer's jewelry line. She was photographed wearing a necklace (open in new tab) with the word "mummy" on it (open in new tab) at a baby shower in New York City in 2019 (open in new tab), and later, when introducing baby Archie (open in new tab) to the world, she wore a three stone (one for each family member Archie (opens in new tab) was later photographed wearing a turquoise necklace with three stones (one for each family member) when he introduced her to the world. All of the brand's dainty jewelry pieces seem to help Meghan commemorate important moments in her life. She is particularly fond of JM's turquoise pieces, having previously worn the style's rings (open in new tab) and earrings (open in new tab) to public events such as Wimbledon.

Princess Meghan has been spotted several times wearing yellow gold vermeil Talon earrings (opens in new tab) by British jewelry designer Shaun Lean. They were a gift from her close friend, Soho House consultant Marcus Anderson. After she was photographed wearing them, the earrings sold out in all four metal colors (proof of the Meghan Markle effect (opens in new tab)), and the designer herself has said in interviews that she now designs with Meghan in mind. She's very elegant, very chic, with clean lines, but with a very strong silhouette. She's very confident," Leanne tells People (opens in new tab). In addition to these earrings, Meghan has also worn bracelets like the designer's Fang Bangle (opens in new tab) on past royal tours in New Zealand and Australia. Celebrities who have worn Shaun Lean jewelry include Kendall Jenner, Cara Delevingne, and Emma Watson.

This minimalist jewelry brand, founded by Ronnie Vardi in 2004, offers everything from barely-there rings to bracelets you never want to (and indeed cannot) take off (opens in new tab), as dainty as one can imagine ... The delicate accessories have been well received by the Duchess of Sussex, who has worn the thin gold bands on several trips from London to Scotland. Princess Meghan likes to have three or four rings on her hand at a time, and the brand's simple, understated designs work well with more intricate pieces. If you're looking for a base piece to layer rings on, invest in a Threadbare style. Royalty.

This UK site -Marisa Hodan left the corporate world in 2007 to turn her passion for jewelry and hobby into a successful business. Most of her jewelry is made of gold vermeil (real gold plated thickly over a sterling silver base). The quality is also top-notch, as proven by stars such as Margot Robbie, Kaia Gerber, and Meghan Markle. Meghan wears quite a few Misoma items, from bracelets to rings, and often stacks them. Misoma is making waves in the U.S. market, so be sure to pick up a few pieces for yourself (and friends) before they sell out.

Princess Meghan has worn Adina Reiter at least eight times, proving that this jewelry brand is one of her favorites. Meghan first showed off the brand's small earrings (open in new tab) when she attended a Commonwealth Day service in March 2018. Over time, the royal family has acquired more pieces, including a teardrop necklace (pictured above). Thanks to the Princess Meghan effect (opens in new tab), fans are flocking to Adina Reiter's website and Instagram, eager to purchase the next Markle jewel. Adina Reiter says, "My goal has always been to create a brand of accessible, quality jewelry that people can wear and enjoy every day, and I'm thrilled to be able to do just that. The Duchess is our ideal woman to introduce this approach," designer Adina Reiter said in an email.

For special occasions that require more regal jewelry, Meghan turns to Burkes. (This Canadian brand was founded in 1979 and produces high-end jewelry that can cost thousands of dollars.) At high-profile events such as Meghan's 2017 engagement photo call (opens in new tab) and the Queen's Christmas lunch, Meghan wore Burkes earrings; on her 2018 royal tour of Ireland with Prince Harry (opens in new tab), she wore Birks' stunning yellow drop earrings at the reception. Later, she wore diamond stud earrings when she visited the Nelson Mandela centennial exhibition (opens in new tab). In total, Meghan has worn almost 16 different items from Burkes, making the label a sure favorite. 'This exposure is a textbook example of what organic PR should be. Consumers who fall in love with a brand become the best-known people on the planet," Eva Hartling, chief marketing officer and vice president of Birks, told Maclean's (opens in new tab).

Princess Meghan's support for the ethnic clothing brand (opens in new tab) naturally extends to her jewelry collection. She has been spotted many times wearing Pippa Small (opens in new tab), an accessories label that focuses on ethical jewelry and charity work (opens in new tab), and most recently at the 2018 Fashion Awards (opens in new tab), Meghan presented the award to Givenchy's Clare Waight Keller. While giving a speech about Keller on stage, Meghan wore a pair of Pippa Small earrings and an armful of bangles made by the artisans of the Turquoise Mountain Foundation (opens in new tab) in Afghanistan. Meghan confirms that the world is paying attention to a brand that is trying to make a difference.
